Here is what I have learned… God is good, His perfect will comes out of us as He has a plan and purpose for everything. I have learned a lot over the last 10 days traveling with students and college and career aged people. I consider everyone of them friends and am greatfull for the opportunity to lead such an amazing bunch of people. The week taught me patience especially with the language barrier. I want to thank Pastor Donna and the elders of the church for allowing us to go and to Ron and Sherry Lapka for having us and allowing us to join them in ministry. There is much work to be done and I am happy to be a part of it and I plan to continue to be a part of it. I also want to thank Pastor Damian, I learned so much from you and I look forward to the day you sit at my table and enjoy a nice big Moose steak, it will happen. To the Corinto/Hacienda Churches, we were blessed with your hospitality and your loving and open arms. I look forward to seeing everyone of you again. To the students and people that we ministered to I pray that you keep strong in your faith and don’t hold back because God has so much for you. Be obedient to His word and listen for His voice, we love you all and look forward to our next meeting. For all who supported and were praying for us before during and after our trip, I want to say thank you for all your support. With no major injury to report I know your prayers for safety were over us. We look forward to sharing all of our stories with you all because there are so many it is hard to type a book. I will not forget this and neither will the team, many lives have been changed. Gracias to all and God Bless!!

Amen.

The trip to El Salvador was amazing and a life changing experience. Getting to know the kids and their way of life changed me in how i view things and how fortunate we are to live in Canada. Visiting my compassion child and being able to see first hand what an influence we have on our children we sponsor was blessing.

I am thankful for the opportunity to hve had the opportunity to go on this trip. I feel that is a highlight of my life to go and to also to be part of a group with my granddaughter Robynne. Often I was overwhelmed in a good way with what I saw, heard, and felt. The church is doing so very much in El Salvador but there is still so much that needs to be done. It was great to experience to go on this trip with this group of people. I thank the Lord for what was done in the hearts and lives of the people, and no doubt only eternity will reveal it all. The people of El Salvador are wonderful, open and welcoming. This week was exhausting yet I fully enjoyed it.

Hey everybody hows it going? Well we are all sitting in the hotel right now, getting ready to leave later today. i tell you, i dont wanna go home yet i want to go back to the comforts of my life in Canada. I saw a lot of people living in shacks and poor living conditions. That was hard for me because I i find myself compaining well in the comfort of my home, and they have nothing. So i guess my favorite part of the trip was playing soccer. We lost big big amounts, i think 12-0 one game. I had to get past the attitude of having to win so i could have fun. But once i did, i had the best time in the world, and i would love to do it again. The sorst/saddest part was when we were handing out candy to the kids in Corinto, and i saw a kid, who was no older than 5, and his teeth were competely rotted out, and that hit me hard and i have no idea why. it was good to see Ron and Sherry and the girls again they are getting so big. Well i guess i have to go and eat some breakfast, so i will see you guys later and God bless.

The trip was amazing it was great to see the heart of the leaders there especially the heart of Pastor Damian & Rosetta, and Ron and Sherry Lapka. The week was full of fun and adventure and I was personally stretched. I definately would love to come back again to see the impact we had and to see if the young people that are serving God are still passionate. Pastor Damian said that the we will see in 10 years that if we are all still serving God whole heartedly and that it would be a tragidy if there was one in the group of people there the last night that left the service of the Lord. There was approximately 40 people there the last night.

Hey everyone! I promised i would put up at least one post before this trip ended so here it goes. I am so blown away right now at how amazing this experience has been from beginning to end. At this point it seems totally surreal that we are heading home tomorrow and it will be back to real life :( As my family knows (hey guys lol) i love to travel and im never in a hurry to come back, even though i love to be home i never want the new experiences to end. I had so many good times this past week that its hard to mention just a few but rest assured i have a ton of stories to share! One of my highlights was meeting all the kids in Corinto and playing with them. Even though I speak hardly any spanish and they dont speak any english we were able to connect and forge new friendships. One thing that was hard to see was that there were so many young girls that had babies and young kids…we were able to witness the opening of a clinic for these girls which was tough but a good thing for the community. I was also blessed to see Ron and Sherry Lapka as well as getting to know my host family and i felt very welcomed by everyone involved in the local church and community. A big thank you to everyone that supported me and prayed for me while i was away :D See you soon.

The trip was amazing! I really enjoyed my time with the people of Corinto and really connected with them. The people of the church and all of the leaders really demonstrated their passion for the youth. It was difficult to witness the poverty and it was upsetting to see the lifestyles of some of the people but they still had great attitudes and are happy. It was amazing to see the unity between the town and witness how they are so tightly knit. I feel very blessed to have gone on this trip and am leaving with a feeling of happiness for the people. I really grew closer with the missionary team and am glad to have had them with me. Thank you to everyone who supported me on the trip and prayed for me =]

This trip was amazing! I am so blessed to have been able to go to El Salvador and meet the people there. Everybody is so warm and welcoming, I had a great time playing with all the kids (I couldn’t really do much talking…) I loved how when you did something as small as buy a kid a freezy, their face would light up and they would be so happy, and all we had to do to connect with the kids was love them and have a good time with them! My favourite part of the trip was our first day there, we got to the church and everyone was hugging us and telling us they were so happy that we were there. They treated us like we were old friends even though we had never met them before. I am so glad I was a part of sharing God’s love with the El Salvadorian people! The plays we did at the school’s were great! The first couple were a bit rough but the message still got across to the people, it was amazing to see kids come to Jesus because something they saw or heard in the presentation that spoke to them. It was hard to leave them, I’m going to miss them all! I can’t wait to get home and share the whole story with everyone. I’ll definately go on another mission someday!

So first off it was an honor to be able to be a part of this team and minister and bless/be blessed by the people of corinto and hacenda! This trip has blessed me more than I could have ever forseen. Now looking back at all the amazing times I had (cliff jumping) and the not so amazing times (hiking 10km to go cliff jumping lol) I see that it was part of God’s plan for my life. I will never forget the people I met and the times we shared (crazy canadian dancing) and they will be in my prayers! I definately hope to go again as soon as another opprotunity presents itself (as long as the don’t try and kill me with another hike!!!). I thank God for the specially bonds that were created and the memories that will impact me for the rest of my life. I pray that the people in El Salvador will be blessed, that the team will be blessed, and even our church/families when we return will be blessed. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!
Much Love,
Josue!
